Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle Takes 4th Place in Japan All-Time Box Office Chart in One Month

 Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle continues its box office reign over the last week, jumping up two spots from sixth place in the all-time Japan box office over Japan’s Obon holiday to become the country’s fourth highest-grossing film of all time. As of August 17,  Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle  has brought in 25.78 billion yen (US$174.32 million) in 31 days on 18.27 million ticket sales, according to the series’ official accounts .  Infinity Castle has now taken the fourth-place spot on the Japan box office all-time chart , previously held by Disney’s Frozen, and pushed Your Name out of the top five for the first time since the Makoto Shinkai-directed film was released in 2016. It now sits below Titanic , released in 1997, which made 27.7 billion yen.  Infinity Castle  is also now the third-highest-grossing anime film of all time in Japan, following  Mugen Train  in first place and  Spirited Away  in second place, with more than 5 billion yen between the Miyazaki-directed movie and the latest  Demon Slayer  film. According to a Sony Pictures Entertainment press release, Infinity Castle grossed US$2.5 million in Vietnam, US$3.2 million in Thailand, US$3.3 million in Malaysia, US$3.5 million in Hong Kong and US$3.6 million in Indonesia. Haruo Sotozaki directs  Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba  at anime studio ufotable. Akira Matsushima is the Chief Animation Director and Character Designer and music is by Yuki Kajiura and Go Shiina. The movie opened in Japan on July 18.  The movie will have its general release in the United States and Canada on September 12 . As the Demon Slayer Corps members and Hashira engaged in a group strength training program, the Hashira Training, in preparation for the forthcoming battle against the demons, Muzan Kibutsuji appears at the Ubuyashiki Mansion. With the head of the Demon Corps in danger, Tanjiro and the Hashira rush to the headquarters but are plunged into a deep descent to a mysterious space by the hands of Muzan Kibutsuji. The destination of where Tanjiro and Demon Slayer Corps have fallen is the demons’ stronghold – the Infinity Castle.
